Computers for Arusha
Published 15 November 2010
This is the first news item to cover this subject, which will become a constant one until the project has been completed. The visit to Arusha in 2009 gave the team many opportunities to visit different schools and build a picture of their needs. A visit was made to the District Educational Officer to discuss opportunities for Hope for Tanzania to assist schools in his district. This supported our view that more widespread use of computers was essential to boost the standard of both primary and secondary schools. So Hope for Tanzania made a committment to fundraise so that a container load of refurbished computers could be sent to Arusha for distribution around a number of schools. Much groundwork will need to be carried out in Arusha before the computers are sent in order to maximise their usefulness.
