A new head teacher, Mr Elisa Naiman Nasari, has been appointed and he started in post this term. He was previously a secondary school teacher and primary school inspector. He has a degree in education.
Teacher Bosco has been promoted to be the assistant director and has started his duties.
The administration block has been completed and is in use. It has been painted in the school uniform colours as have some of the classrooms.
All teachers have reported for work at the start of the new term apart from teacher Robert, who has shifted to another school in Arusha. The teachers are doing their best to see that the school heads in the right direction.
Two new teachers, Elia and Phester have been employed and are teaching pre unit classes.
Standard 7 pupils have taken their national examination (9/10 September) and have left the school. The graduation ceremony was held on Saturday 12 September.
A metal storage tank for food has been built which can carry 70 bags of maize and this has increased storage space for other school materials.
The pupils have started morning prayers and are being supervised with the help of the teacher on duty. The pupils read a Bible verse which is explained and related to daily life. The staff are also having morning devotions. Religion lessons are taught by a nun, who is currently teaching about the relationship of people with their creator. She is assisted by Bosco and Isaac, who is teaching classes 3 and 4, and Renalda, who is teaching classes 1 and 2.
Further textbooks are being funded to provide a near complete set for classes 4 to 7 and a half set for classes 1 to 3.
Contact has been made with Braeburn School and The School of St Jude for advice and joint examinations.
