Perils of Living in Tanzania

The situation in Tanzania, already one of the poorest countries in the world, is especially difficult at the moment due to a shortage of water due to the rains not having been heavy. This has had a knock-on effect on the supply of electricity and Arusha has suffered from an acute shortage of electricity. This isn't good news for hospitals, businesses and schools and makes life even more difficult for people. Other difficulties that people face are higher fuel prices and transport costs, higher food prices, lack of jobs for educated young people and difficulty in small businesses obtaining bank loans. And we thought life was difficult in UK!
