Update on Tuishime School
Published 28 August 2012
Dear friends
We continue to receive encouraging news from the school staff in Arusha. We expect the number of children to further increase when school re-opens in September and we may well hit 300, which is a significant increase from the 220 roll at the start of the year. This increase is mainly due to the donation of computers that Hope for Tanzania made in May which have allowed the school to commence teaching IT. In addition French is being taught and a teacher recently visited the UK through a British Council exchange programme so the school is now regarded as being an International School. Its popularity with parents now means that we will have to limit the size of the school so as to maintain the standard of education. What a great situation to be in! But we realise that for every child we educate there are many more that do not have access to such an opportunity and our hearts become heavy. We need other people from the UK to help. Could it be you?
