Trustees return from Tanzania
Published 04 November 2012
Dick Beath and Maggie Zimmermann have both now returned from their visit. Encouraging news has been received in many areas although there are other items that concern us and we will be focussing on these in order to bring about positive change. Maggie spent most of her time in school where she taught pupils, trained teachers and learnt much about life in Tanzania. She has agreed with Naomi to apply for British Council International award which will allow a further exchange visit between teachers. If this is successful, Renalda, a teacher of the nursery class will visit Church Broughton School in May 2013. Dick's focus was to train the finance and administrative staff in budget setting and analyse the school accounts to give HFT an opinion on how close the school is to financial self-sufficiency. He brought back encouraging news of how the computers that HFT donated earlier this year are being used. If you would like to read the in-depth reports that Dick has written contact Martin Grosvenor at info@hopefortanzania.org.
