Update on Tuishime School

The school now has 370 pupils on roll which is a significant increase from that at the start of last year. Building work has been limited in the last year with only a new toilet block being built. This was needed to cope with the increased numbers of pupils. Gates have been installed at the two entrances to safeguard pupils and provide a more impressive frontage. Classrooms are being renovated with ceilings and lights, both of which have helped improve the environment. Cupboards have been made in a number of classrooms, for storage of books, which will hopefully encourage children to read the many books that have been donated. The school grounds have also been improved with new planting and laying of paths. The children are very happy and are being taught in a buoyant atmosphere. We are prioritising actions to improve teaching standards and greater use of resources to liven up lessons and stimulate the pupilsí curiosity.
