Hope for Tanzania

Poverty in Tanzania

Added 11 February 2011

The last few months have been very difficult for people in Tanzania, particularly in Arusha where the electricity supply has been very sporadic. Last week there was no electricity for 4 days. Just imagine how more difficult this makes life, when it is difficult anyway. The water supply, which is essential for generation of electricity, has also been intermittent. Please pray that the complex reasons why Tanzania remains one of the poorest countries in the world will start to be solved and that life becomes easier for people. I can only imagine the strain that many people constantly live under if they don't have enough money to buy food for their family let alone clothes, bus fares and school fees. Pray that officials will be honest in their business and that money will not drain out of Tanzania due to exploitation of its wealth by foreign companies.
