Hope for Tanzania

Health and Weather

Added 16 May 2011

It struck me today that there are two areas of life which we take for granted in this country. The first is easy access to medical treatment and the second is a mild climate. In the first area our friends Mosses and Mary are both suffering with ill health although they are still in their early forties - Mosses with his leg injured in a car accident and Mary with chest pains due to a lung disease. They have four children and need to work but just don't have access to medical specialists. For most Tanzanians prayer and faith in God is what they rely on for healing. And the great thing is that many of them are healed supernaturally by the work of the Holy Spirit. In the second area the weather in Tanzania continues to give serious problems to everyone (insufficient water in dams for electricity generation so the electricity supply throughout the country has been very poor for 6 months),and for farmers (drought followed by too heavy rains resulting in destruction of crops - 85% of people earn income from agriculture). The Government is planning to import a lot of food during the next year to make up for the shortage. Please use your imagination to pray for God's help in these situations.
